PREP WRESTLING: Lakeland takes two in prep for Rollie Lane

MOSCOW — At the start of the season, Lakeland coach Rob Edleblute wasn’t sure on the depth of his squad, but knew they’d have some tough wrestlers.

And that roster continues to grow.

Senior Austin Stutzke, a transfer from East Valley High in Spokane, notched a pin at 138 pounds as the Hawks defeated Moscow 70-18 at Bear Den on Tuesday. Later, Lakeland defeated Lewiston 60-27.

“Austin competed and fought hard in both of his matches,” Edelblute said. “He didn’t show up that first week of practice, but told us he’d like to wrestle. He’s been a good fit for us and adds some strength to our lineup.”

Peyton Wysong (120 pounds), Soren Sabatke (152), Cooper Johnson (160) and Sam Feusier won each of their matches by pin for Lakeland, which faces Kuna and Caldwell at Caldwell High on Thursday.
