COEUR d’ALENE — A man is being held on $200,000 bail after he was charged with his eighth lifetime DUI.

Pinehurst resident Michael B. Maravilla, 51, is charged with driving under the influence, a felony. Prosecutors also filed a persistent violator enhancement.

Idaho State Police reportedly pulled Maravilla over around 1 a.m. on Dec. 29 after an alleged traffic violation.

He provided breath samples of .18 and .17, according to court documents. In Idaho, a blood alcohol level of .08 or more is considered legally impaired.

Police arrested him at the scene.

Maravilla has been charged with DUI seven times previously, according to court documents.

He was reportedly convicted of driving under the influence in 2007, 2013 and 2017.

In Idaho, a third DUI violation within 10 years is a felony punishable by up to a decade in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
