VACCINE: Cheers to KH staff
I am an avid reader of the Letters to the Editor. I find them informative, entertaining, sad, uplifting, humorous or irritating, giving readers time to reflect on the public at large, and a sense of how neighbors view each other and our community.
However, one letter to the editor in the Feb. 14 edition has inspired me to write a response. I found the individual’s letter extremely negative and unappreciative in her comments concerning the medical staff during her visit to Kootenai Health for her COVID-19 vaccine.
I suspect she considers herself special above others. I doubt she served in the military, worked as a waitress, as a nurse, or caregiver in any capacity to appreciate what it takes to serve and honor others. Unfortunately, we have all had to quarantine, missing family, friends, to keep ourselves and others safe and healthy. She is not alone in this!
My wife and I found our vaccination experience at Kootenai Health incredibly positive. I appreciate our health care workers and their dedication to our community. We were so happy to receive the vaccine and celebrated to be scheduled for the second injection while we were there. I looked around and saw all those senior citizens and some teachers receiving vaccine and felt humbled to be one of the lucky ones to be in line. I felt enormous pride in our health care community.
The staff working the registration process were so helpful in providing assistance, going to each person to keep things moving smoothly and safely. Thank you to the health care workers who put their lives on the line for the rest of us!
