POST FALLS — A man is being held on $25,000 bail after police said he choked his wife in a motel room.

Jeremie M. Pease, 42, of Post Falls, is charged with attempted strangulation, a felony.

Police responded Monday morning to a report of a domestic dispute at a Post Falls motel. A woman who identified herself as Pease’s wife said Pease had attacked her.

The couple had argued the night before, she said, and Pease became angry again in the morning. She told police Pease grabbed her by the neck while she was laying on the bed and choked her.

She said she couldn’t breathe while Pease choked her, according to court documents.

There were red marks and scratches on her neck, police said, as well as a red mark on her back in the shape of a handprint.

When questioned by police, Pease reportedly said he pushed his wife against a wall during a verbal argument.

Police arrested Pease at the scene.

Judge Anna Eckhart ordered that Pease be held on $25,000 bail. She also issued a no contact order between Pease and his wife.
