INITIATIVE: From two to zero

The ballot initiative is the constitutional right of every Idaho citizen. It’s a cherished right that was enshrined in our state constitution over a century ago to give ordinary citizens a voice in their government.

Senate Bill 1110 would make it almost impossible for any grassroots initiative to qualify for the ballot. It is already extremely difficult to qualify an initiative for the ballot in Idaho, requiring signatures from 6% of registered voters in each of 18 districts, so that rural districts are well represented, as well as urban voters.

It already was made far more difficult in 2013 by the Legislature, thus only two citizens’ initiative have made it to the ballot since then.

Do not rob the citizens of their constitutional right. Tell your senator to vote no on SB1110.
