LEVY: Meet challenging needs

| February 23, 2021 1:00 AM

My name is Jim Blazin, the Lead Pastor of Real Life Ministries North/Spirit Lake campus. For the last several years, we have been working closely with the Lakeland School District 272 to meet very real and challenging needs within our communities here in the north. Our relationship with Lakeland’s teachers and administrators, led by Dr. Becky Meyer has been a privilege and enabled us to better serve our community.

The school district and the local church have respectfully served alongside one another to strengthen our communities. I have experienced firsthand the level of care and concern that Dr. Meyer and her team have for the students and their families in our area. Having personally served with teachers and counselors in District 272, I am truly amazed at their concern for their students.

I live within the Lakeland School District and am seeing firsthand the results of tremendous growth up here, as many new families move in. With growth comes additional needs that can only be met through financial support. Please show your support for District 272 by voting YES for the Lakeland Replacement Instructional levy on March 9. Whether you have children in school or not, remember that a healthy school district can change the future health of our community as a whole.
