| February 20, 2021 1:00 AM

Coeur d'Alene firefighters leave a shop on W. Cherry Lane after battling a fire that started there about 5 p.m. Friday. They had the fire under control within an hour as they worked in 30-degree conditions. "It's definitely contained and knocked down at this point," said Craig Etherton, fire inspector, outside the structure about 6 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The shop owner was in a trailer next door when the fire started and was alerted by a police offer. There were no injuries reported. Kootenai County Fire and Rescue also responded, as well as an ambulance from Northern Lakes Fire District.
