REBUKE: Punish the announcer

Re: “GOD: High school unwelcoming” — Wednesday letter to the editor from Patricia Foreman.

Oh my goodness, as a former school administrator, I’ve just now simmered down enough to put pen to paper. That “announcer” at the Coeur d’Alene High-North Idaho Rumble event, representing Coeur d’Alene High, needs to be reprimanded publicly and required to make a public apology to the students and parents at the event; and to the students and parents of Coeur d’Alene High at large. And then an apology to the community in the Coeur d’Alene Press.

This person’s statements are a disgrace. The head of Coeur d’Alene High needs to follow through on discipline for his anti-God, anti-religion statement that “he would not be reading any religious statements or anything that mentioned God.”

These were statements that he would read from the wrestlers themselves relating their accomplishments and thanking those who helped them get there, especially God.
