Margaret Ives Crowell

| February 18, 2021 1:00 AM

Margaret Ives Crowell passed away Feb. 12, 2021, one week shy of turning 98. Mom was born in Hanna, Alberta, Canada, to Glen and Myrtle Ives; the fifth of six children. They moved to the U.S. in 1924, eventually settling in Superior, Mont.

Mom graduated from high school in 1941 and was working at WSU when she met my dad, Ken Crowell. They married in 1944 and went on to have three children. By 1963, they moved to Kirkland, Wash., where dad retired from AT&T in 1982. The year 1990 found them moving to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where they lived for the rest of their lives.

Dad died in 1994, one week after their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mom was also preceded in death by their son, Keith, in 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Burnett (William) of Moses Lake, Wash. and Connie Salsbury of Post Falls, Idaho; grandchildren, Nicholas Burnett and Travis Burnett (Laura), Samuel Salsbury and Jenny Salsbury; and great-grandchildren, Eilley and Aspen Burnett.

Our thanks go out to the staff at North Star Retirement Community. You took exceptional care of our mother and we will carry you in our hearts.

At this time we are not having a memorial, because of the pandemic.

Arrangements are being handled by English Funeral Home, with internment at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, Seattle.
