TRUMP: The party’s over

“Stop the Steal,” yelled Donald Trump, and his minions took up the chant.

And in every state of the Union, the theft of the election was indeed stopped.

Every secretary of state in all 50 states — even the red states — certified their elections.

Every governor in all 50 states — even the red ones — certified their elections.

Every court in the land — even the Supreme Court of the United States — rejected every suit brought by Trump’s minions to “Stop the Steal,” thereby rejecting the theft of the election.

And then Trump sicced his minions on the Congress of the United States as the House and Senate were about to certify the Electoral College results. The horrifying, bloody result of that last-gasp “Stop the Steal” was preceded by sedition in both the House and Senate. But that, too, didn’t work.

Coups d’etat were tried both inside the Capitol and on its steps. They failed. And now to add rebellion to insurrection, the Proud Boys, the 3 Percenters, the Oathtakers, the QAnoners and various other white supremacists are threatening a new civil war.

Republicans of good conscience: It’s time to repudiate the Big Lie. Our Republic depends on it.
