LAKELAND: Pay it forward

When my wife, an Idaho native, and I moved here 30 years ago we were surprised when we opened the real estate brochures as we looked for a place to raise our young family. Every house in the Lakeland School District was identified as such. Residency in the Lakeland School District was and is highly sought after.

We were grateful to find a house here and start our family’s “Lakeland Experience.” All of our children received an excellent education, complete with band, sports and other extracurricular activities. They were prepared for the life’s experiences that would await them, and have been highly successful. That success can be traced, in part, to the foundation they received in the Lakeland School District.

You’ve gotten the mailings, and know the facts (no raise in taxes, continued extracurriculars, etc.).

My letter is to those of us who have raised our children here in Lakeland.
