KCSO checking out man recording vehicles at Hayden Library

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a report of a man wearing a camouflage outfit and black hood while recording vehicles at the Hayden Library on Thursday.

A video sent to The Press shows the man holding up what appears to be a cellphone and filming vehicles in the back parking lot.

It’s not clear how long the man was out there before the KCSO was called. Several people reportedly saw him and were concerned about what he was doing.

In the video, the man is standing at one end of the parking lot, turns and sees he is being recorded and walks over to the person.

“What are you doing?” he asks.

“What are you doing?” the woman responds.

“Why are you taking my photo?” he asks.

In turn, she asks why is he photographing vehicles before she drives away.

KCSO Lt. Ryan Higgins said a deputy was working on the call Thursday.
