Idaho football added a pair of local student-athletes to next year's roster with the spring signing period, with Tyler Skinner and Brett Tommasini joining the Vandals in the fall.

Skinner, a 6-5, 285 lineman, helped lead Moscow to the playoffs in 2020, ultimately earning an win over Jerome in the first round. The local produce earned second team All-Idaho 4A honors as an offensive lineman in 2020, but also mixed it up as a defensive end. A versatile athlete, Skinner also competes on the basketball team at Moscow High.

Tommasini, the younger brother of current Vandal Derek Tommasini, earned 5A All-Idaho First Team honors last year as a linebacker after helping to lead Eagle High to the number four ranking in the west. Idaho added 20 players to its signing list in December.

EASTERN WASHINGTON

Another five high school players will join the Eastern football program and play for the Eagles next fall, coach Aaron Best announced on the first day of the NCAA's February Letter of Intent signing period. Previously on Dec. 16, the Eagles announced 17 new additions, including 16 who signed national letters of intent and one as an invited walk-on who has been admitted and confirmed attendance at EWU.

The five new additions in February include a pair of signees, plus three who are invited walk-ons. Three of the five are offensive linemen, and Eastern also signed an in-state linebacker and defensive end. In all, four of the new additions are from Washington, giving Eastern a total of 12 among the 22 new players set to arrive at EWU next fall.

"We did most of our work prior to the first signing day," said Best, whose team will begin the winter/spring season on Feb. 27 at Idaho. "That was our intent knowing the season was going to be moved to the spring, which is really our winter. We wanted to tie up as many loose ends as we could on Dec. 16, knowing we would have a few things to address once we got to the third of February."

WASHINGTON STATE

Washington State coach Nick Rolovich announced four signings, including quarterback Jarrett Guarantano, a 6-foot-4, 213 pound graduate transfer from Tennessee. Guarantano, as well as new signees Chris Jackson, Tsion Nunnally and Ben Wilson are already enrolled at Washington State.
