POST FALLS — It was an Inland Empire League game until it wasn’t at The Arena.

Alex Horning scored 22 points, Caden McLean added 18 and the Trojans ran past the Bulldogs in a nonleague game.

Earlier in the day, a scheduled game between Coeur d’Alene and host Moscow was canceled due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the Bears program. With the season winding down, the game won’t be made up, and the teams reverted back to counting games against similar classifications.

“That’s the way it should be,” Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. “We outscored them on all three levels (C, JV and varsity) tonight.”

Cole Rutherford had six assists, six rebounds, no turnovers and two steals and Josiah Shields three assists, three rebounds and two steals for Post Falls (11-4), which resumes 5A Inland Empire League play at Coeur d’Alene on Saturday.

“I thought we had good energy and were able to get out to a good start,” McLean said. “We were able to get some guys a lot of minutes.”
