Anna Jean Keisner (Anne) Hay, 93, passed away Dec. 6, 2021. She was the sixth daughter born to Orgel H. and Edna B. Keisner on Feb. 8, 1928.

Anne married Waldo W. Hay on Feb. 2, 1947. They immediately moved from Tekoa, Wash., to Endicott, Wash., to farm for Waldo’s father, Everett C. Hay. They moved back to Tekoa, where they raised their family and built their business, Rathdrum Prairie Grain. They had three children, Larry, Susan and Marianne.

Anne’s true passion in life was playing golf. Waldo, along with other community leaders, built the Tekoa Golf Course around 1963. There she fell in love with the sport. In 1978, Waldo and Anne moved to Hayden, Idaho, on the Avondale Golf Course. You would find her there until Waldo passed away in 2005.

She loved being a homemaker. Prior to marrying Waldo, she worked for Bell Telephone then later, as an empty nester, she was office manager for Rathdrum Prairie Grain and Bi State, Inc. Her voice and good looks made her a favorite of “Earl’s Girls” in the annual Slippery Gulch production in Tekoa during the '60s and '70s.

Anne is survived by her son, Larry (JaNae) Hay; her daughters, Susan (Kyle) Kinyon and Marianne (Rod) Willard; also, a step-sister, Donna Ottoson and stepbrother, Glen Baughman. She has 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo; parents, Orgel and Edna; and her five sisters: Beryl, Betty, Dorothy, Gladys and Audrey; also, her beloved step-father, Ray Baughman; her step-sister, Bonnie Edwards; and step-brother, Bob Baughman.

A memorial service will be planned for some time in the spring. Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with final arrangements.
