BIDEN: On further review

Dear Dean,

Regarding your points published on 12/22/2021:

Border wall policy has remained relatively consistent with the previous White House occupant, except fewer children are separated from their families.

Afghanistan exodus deal was brokered by the previous administration and it’s fitting they (the previous administration) left the fallout for somebody else.

Riots — I assume you’re referring to Jan. 6 insurrection? I agree, that should be addressed with decades-long prison sentences for those involved.

Rise in crime — See Riots, above.

Organized gangs — See Riots, above.

Defund the Police — So you oppose shifting weapons funding to community support for those suffering from mental illness, homelessness or abuse?

Thomas Jefferson statue removal — It’s a statue in another state, how does this affect your daily life? Gouverneur Morris penned some of the Constitution yet I hardly hear about him.

Judicial system — Are you referring to the Supreme Court confirmation during an election? Hard to see that as non-partisan.

Government spending — Is this the Tax Cuts and Job Act which increases the debt by $1 trillion and will expire for the low and middle class folks in another three years?

Expanded social welfare — So you’re against the Child Tax Credit for those families living below the poverty line? It’s a strange hill to die on when you’re OK with a tax break for millionaires but don’t want to help kids.

In short, we both have similar views but it seems that mine are grounded in objective reality.
