COEUR d’ALENE — Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre is bringing three popular Broadway musicals to the stage for the summer 2022 season: “Mamma Mia!,” “Little Women” and “Nunsense.” Season tickets are available now, in time for Christmas giving.

Established in 1967, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre is Idaho’s oldest performing arts organization. The nonprofit, professional theater produces full-scale Broadway musicals during the months of June, July and August.

The professional theater’s summer season kicks off with “Mamma Mia!” July 1 through 10. Featuring ABBA’s timeless ballads, the popular Broadway musical tells the story of a daughter who brings three men from her mother’s past back to Greece on the eve of her wedding in an attempt to determine which is her father.

“Little Women, The Broadway Musical” runs from July 22 through 31. Based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel, the musical introduces the March sisters: The traditional Meg, aspiring writer Jo, timid Beth and the romantic Amy as they navigate life during the Civil War.

“Nunsense” is a musical farce about a convent of nuns who stage a fundraiser to help cover the costs of burying the last four nuns of their order, all victims of botulism stemming from an unfortunate cooking accident at the convent.

All performances will be at the Schuler Performing Arts Center at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene.

Season ticket holders receive exclusive benefits including confirmed seats to all three shows, the ability to exchange seats or performances, a private season ticket holder concierge phone number for ticketing help during the season, discounts on merchandise and concessions, discounts on additional tickets and discounts and early access to additional shows and productions.

The theater is also holding auditions for principal and ensemble singers, dancers and actors for their main stage productions. All positions are paid, and no roles have been precast.

In-person auditions will be held Jan. 22 and 23 in Coeur d’Alene. Specific times and locations for auditions will be given to individuals after sign up.

The theater is also accepting video auditions from those unable to attend live auditions. Openings for directors, stage managers, assistant stage managers, technical directors, company managers, and set, sound, lighting and costume designers are also needed.
