Shirley Orth, 78

| December 19, 2021 1:00 AM

Heaven was awaited by Shirley Orth of Post Falls, Idaho, on Dec. 12, 2021, at the age of 78. Shirley was born in Seattle, Wash., April 24, 1943, however her heart cherished the Kirkland, Cle Elum, Ronald, and Roslyn area where her family was centered around.

Shirley enjoyed many of the Idaho pastimes such as harvesting mushrooms in the mountains, picking huckleberries, and picking raspberries with her son David. Shirley was a huge fan of Gonzaga, Seattle Mariners, and Seahawks so much so that she knew every player and all their stats. This enthusiasm was shared by her son for hours of discussions on how they should be coached. Shirley also had a great circle of friends in Idaho for lunches, bingo, and regular birthday celebrations. Every Holiday the family gathered for days full of laughter and love. We loved all of them and will cherish these times for the rest of our lives.

Shirley was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (GG), sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Shirley is survived by her only son David Orth and wife Raschelle Orth, grandchildren Tony Orth, Tyler, and Brianna Orth. Her beloved great-grandchildren Dylan Orth, Leyla Orth, Averie Orth, Phoenix Orth. Her lovely sisters and brother Kay and husband Roger Knutson, Cory and Shelley Fuller, Cheryl Kaler. Her beautiful nieces and nephews- Larry and Nancy Marquette, Julie Wiegert, Laurie and Rob Hinkle, Jim and Kim Marquette, Casie Orth. The list of loved ones is bountiful.

Shirley will be honored at her Celebration of Life held 1 pm Thursday, Dec. 23 at English Funeral Chapel 1700 North Spokane St. Post Falls, Idaho.
