District 1 football officials honored

The North Idaho Officials Association/IHSAA District 1 Football Officials held its annual postseason awards social recently.

This event is intended to give thanks to the officials for a job well done, and to award some of its top performers.

This season's winners are:

Josh Behrens — Terry Gorton Memorial Official of the Year

Steve Hanni — Ironman of the Year

Jonathan Beecher — Most Improved Official

Briar Adona — Rookie of the Year

Cole Turnbull — Commissioner's Award

Jason Jenkins — Commissioner's Award

In addition, the officials selected to work the 1A Division II championship game were honored. The game pitted Kendrick and Carey on Nov. 20 at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow

Those officials are:

Chad Duce - Referee

Jacob Iverson - Umpire

Casey Irgens - Head line judge

Brandon Litalien - Line judge

Neal Pederson - Back judge
