Linda Marie Davis, 73

| December 15, 2021 1:00 AM

Linda Marie Davis, born on Jan. 11, 1948, to Lester Keller and Dorothy Ness in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, laid her body aside on Nov. 28, 2021, due to heart complications.

A lifetime resident of North Idaho, Linda graduated from IHM Catholic School in 1966 and went on to attend North Idaho College. A single mother of three under the age of four, she waitressed at the Owl Café in Hayden, and The Falls Club in Post Falls. Later, she married Marvin Davis and her family grew with their marriage. She helped raise his son, nieces and nephews and her children’s friends who needed a little more nurturing.

Her home was always open. She worked at K & L manufacturing until she retired as the manager. Then, she helped at Good Times Tavern bartending and finally doing the books for the bar and her family and friends. They all depended on her knowledge and generosity. This is where she met her partner of twenty-plus years, James Cornett. Her family grew even larger, and she helped raise his youngest children owning them as her own.

She loved her kids, and if her body would’ve allowed, she would have had at least 13 of her own. Instead, she was blessed by those around her who considered her mom, aunt, sister, friend, cousin, grandma and partner … She shared her passion for the outdoors with her family and anyone else who wanted to come along.

Life was filled with lots of camping, fishing and hunting. She enjoyed playing pool with her friends back in the day, and she was good at the game. When life began to get challenging for Linda, she didn’t let it stop her from getting her nails done or shopping. Even though she knew her time on Earth was getting short, she continued to live life as if she was never leaving. She fought hard to give her family the time they needed to accept her passing, and we are so appreciative for every day she gave us. She was loved and adored greatly.

Linda is survived by her partner, James Cornett, his kids and grandkids, her daughter, Heidi Capes, son-in law, Dan Capes, her son, Joe Ulrich, daughter-in-law Tina Ulrich, daughter, Amy Burright, son-in-law, Tom Burright, granddaughters, Zoe and Leiell Capes, Brie Burright, grandsons, Sage Capes, Josh, Zach, Sam Williams, and Matthew Stauffer, fourteen grandkids, her sisters Patricia Collins and Maureen Howard, her six nieces and three nephews.

A celebration of life will be held around noon, on Jan. 8, at her son’s house in Post Falls. Contact Joe Ulrich, Heidi Capes or Amy Burright for directions. Bell Tower Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
