New ‘Mudgy & Millie’ book giveaway Dec. 11

COEUR d’ALENE – A new Mudgy and Millie book launch and giveaway is scheduled 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the lower parking lot on the McEuen Park side of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.

There will be a drive-through for the “Mudgy & Millie Adventures: Africa” book. Participants will remain in their vehicles and Mudgy & Millie, author Susan Nipp, Santa, and library helpers will hand each child a paperback copy of the new adventure.

The original “Mudgy & Millie” was published in 2008 with its royalties, and those for “Mudgy & Millie” merchandise, going to the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation.

Its release coincided with the unveiling of Terry Lee’s bronzes and the opening of the 2.5-mile trail in cooperation with the city of Coeur d’Alene.

The Mudgy & Millie Trail Map continues to be a popular attraction for visitors and community members alike and is asked for frequently at the library.

“Mudgy & Millie Adventures: Africa” is author Susan Nipp and illustrator Charles Reasoner's fourth “Mudgy & Millie” adventure; “Mudgy & Millie Adventures: Australia” was published in 2018 and “Mudgy & Millie Adventures: Costa Rica” was published in 2019.

Hardback copies of the new book will be available to purchase at Figpickels Toy Emporium starting on Black Friday and they will be holding a book signing event on Dec. 12.
