CHRISTMAS: Bring back Virginia
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, so could you please print that old editorial “Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus” in your paper sometime soon? Help readers have a holly, jolly Christmas this year by running this wonderful piece and giving us reason to smile. You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch, if you don’t.
Christmas time is here, and it’s the most wonderful time of the year. We’ll have a blue Christmas if you don’t warm our hearts with it. Baby, it’s cold outside on this silent night, and the chestnuts are already roasting on an open fire. We need a little Christmas right this very minute!
Meanwhile I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, so let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! We’re so lucky to live in such a winter wonderland.
Do you hear what I hear? Mom back in Iowa says that I’ll be home for Christmas, if only in my heart. My husband says all I want for Christmas is you. And my granddaughter says all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth! Grandma wants a new leg because she got run over by a reindeer.
So please help bring some joy to the world, especially Coeur d’Alene, and print that famous column. Meanwhile, Mr. Grinch, have yourself a merry little Christmas!

Editor’s note: You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I’m telling you why, Virginia’s story is coming to town. Look for it Christmas Eve.
