PASTOR: Where’s the love?

It is with great sorrow that I have been reading about the hateful and demonizing behavior displayed by some who call themselves Christians, toward young people arriving for the Rainbow Squad meeting at the Post Falls library recently.

For starters, they obviously do not care to understand anything about LGBTQ+ folk, nor to show them any compassion.

Steven Hemming of Family Worship Center, Hayden, who initiated the gathering outside the library, claims their message is of God’s unfailing love for all people, yet he and those he leads fail to follow Christ’s admonition to be bearers of that love to the world. We are all equally sinners; when we accuse and judge others, we presume to put ourselves in place of God.

His “My Turn” piece addressed the need to be willing to turn from wicked ways. I pray that he and his flock may be able to grasp that condemning our fellow human beings is its own form of immorality.
