PREP WRESTLING: Post Falls leads after first day at Sidney Inviational

SIDNEY, Mont. — Post Falls leads the Sidney Invitational after the first day with 49 points, sending 11 wrestlers into the quarterfinals today.

Rider Seguine (103 pounds), Zack Campbell (113), Tyson Barnhart (120), Bradley Mason (132), Walker Rouse (138), Alex Austin (138), John Rudebaugh (152), Jose Laguna (170), Gentry Smith (182), Trevor Miller (205) and Austin Portner (285) each went unbeaten to advance.

Rouse and Austin are on opposite sides of the bracket and will not meet until the finals.

Columbia High of Nampa is second with 45.5 points.

The tournament concludes today.

Lake City puts four into

semifinals at Owen invite

POLSON, Mont. — Zach Macdonald (113 pounds), Blaine Leonard (126), Kenzie Lindsey (152) and Garrett Leonard (160) advanced to the semifinals of their respective weight classes at the season opening Owen Invitational at Linderman Elementary School.

“For a first time out, I was just happy with the way we competed,” Lake City coach Corey Owen said. “The kids just wrestled hard, even in those matches we lost. Ahead, or behind, the kids are just fighting, which is something I love to see.”

Lake City is third in the 19-team tournament with 63 points. Columbia Falls leads with 102.5.
