George Arthur Loos

Known for his great love for life, infectious laugh and a special way of making a person feel valued, George Arthur Loos left an incredible impact on everyone around him. He left us on Nov. 13, 2021.

Born on July 28, 1950, to George Loos and Mary Williams in Staten Island, N.Y. This where he developed his lifelong fondness for sports and will forever be remembered shouting, “GO Giants!” During high school he was a linebacker for the Vikings. George enlisted in the US Navy in 1968 and was assigned to the USS Nautalius stationed in San Diego, Calif. He attained rating of Torpedoman Petty Officer 3rd/class and was Honorably discharged in 1971.

George began a plumbing apprenticeship program working alongside his father and cousin Jim in New York City. He moved west with his daughters and younger brothers in 1977. He married the love of his life, Georgina, in 1984 and gained a son. Together they owned and operated Two Georges’ Plumbing for 20 years. George was a member of River City Van Club and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. George worked as a plumber for District 81 until he retired and moved to Spirit Lake, Idaho. Walking thousands of miles with his dog, he was known in the community for his cheery personality. George was beloved by all.

He is survived by his wife Georgina, daughters Felecia Todd and Erin Kranzler, son Tony Thomas, grandchildren Claire, Ethan, Cash and Carson, brothers Daniel and David.

A celebration of life will be held at Spirit Lake on Saturday, July 30, 2022. When you see an eagle fly, may you be reminded that George is watching. Donations can be made to the Humane Society or any animal shelter.
