VACCINES: Urgency needed

We are now facing crisis mode at Kootenai Health. What will it take for people to see that this is not a freedom issue?

It is indeed an issue of us still reeling from a pandemic that is caused by a virus- a virus that can be contained by the vast majority of our community members being vaccinated. This action, of being vaccinated, is not new-- it is ages old, and the test of time has proven vaccines to be effective. We nearly eradicated polio and smallpox with vaccines.

Our technology has vastly improved in recognizing how viruses work, and in developing vaccines to combat them. The FDA has now approved the Pfizer COVID vaccine.

The virus, in so many ways, is eating away at the fiber of the health of this nation. It is now eating away at our community hospital. Our hospital and all who work there are being plunged into a health care crisis.

God forbid that you or I need a hospital bed -for anything- because the odds are, there will be none!

Please: Get vaccinated because it is the right thing to do.
