Nicole 'Nikki' Mowery, 28

In loving memory of our beloved Nikki - a life partner, daughter, sister, friend, granddaughter, niece, coworker and amazing ray of sunshine - who passed away unexpectedly Aug. 21, 2021.

Nikki was born in Great Falls, Mont. on July 1, 1993, while her parents were stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base, and was raised in North Idaho since she was 2 years old. She was truly a North Idaho girl.

After high school Nikki attended Carrington College to become a Dental Assistant. After graduating, Nikki worked at many of the local dental offices and truly loved her career field and strived to excel in every aspect of her job. She was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program in Boise and postponed to stay close to her family.

Nikki was always adventure bound. She documented all of her fun at #adventuresofnmmn to share with the world. Her beaming smile was a true testament to her love of life. In her free time, she was chasing sunsets or getting lost in the woods, journeying to find antler sheds and mushrooms, and stumbling upon hidden lakes. She learned to fish and spent hours on the lakes of North Idaho and rivers of Montana with her life partner, Mandy.

She was known for rolling her windows down and singing in her car for all to enjoy. She was truly a ball of fun and her goofy personality drew many to love her and enjoy her company.

Nikki was very close with her family; they enjoyed paddle boarding around the local lakes, spending time at the beach with her nephews and sister, and going into the woods for shooting practice with her parents. Her adventurous spirit will be missed.

When she wasn't outdoors, Nikki enjoyed cozy nights watching reality sitcoms or binge watching "The Office." She loved trying new restaurants and loved a good sushi roll. She had a competitive nature that started with volleyball in high school and continued through the years as she mastered card games; playing rummy and euchre at family gatherings were her favorite.

She will always be remembered for her selfless nature; she had a soft spot for those who needed help and her smile was so bright it lit up any room she entered. We will miss her contagious belly laugh and the sound of her voice. She will forever be loved by those who had the good fortune of calling her a loved one and friend.

She is survived by her life partner, Mandy Nimke; her loving parents, Tim and Heidi Mowery; her loving sister and brother-in-law, Erika and Justin Starkey; her nephews, Ryker and Carver Starkey; her grandmother, Vivian "Nannymom" Oberdorf; grandparents, Darwin and Elizabeth "Betty" Mowery; four aunts; four uncles; and nine cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Sept. 12, 2021. The time and location are TBD and we will announce it on her Facebook page as we have more details.

Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements. Please visit Nikki’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com
