COEUR d'ALENE — The PoP Club is happening through Sept. 4, thanks to financial support of the Kootenai County Farmers’ Market.

The program teaches children about produce, local food systems and healthy food choices. It has been averaging 65 children per week.

It is free to kids ages 5 to 12. Each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. kids can sign in and take part in an activity and receive a token worth $2 at a participating PoP Club vendor.

Drop by the PoP Club booth Saturday at the farmers' market at the corner of U.S. 95 and Prairie to learn about the tomato. On the last meeting of the summer, Sept. 4, they plan to make pedal-powered gazpacho soup.
