Kootenai County residents will have their turn to speak about the Optional Forms of Government study Sept. 29.

The OFGSC, created by the Board of County Commissioners, was assigned to review the effectiveness of county government operations and determine if an alternate form could better serve the community.

Since the study commission first met in May, the group has collected input from past and present public officials. OFGSC meetings are open but public comments have not been accepted so commissioners have time to understand the topic more throughly.

The public comment meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Kootenai Administration Building on Government Way.

Upcoming meetings of the OFGSC and its tentative interviewees are:

• Sept. 1, Kootenai County department heads

• Sept. 8, former Kootenai County Sheriff Ben Wolfinger and Kootenai County Assessor Bela Kovacs

• Sept. 15, Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris

• Sept. 22, Kootenai County department heads or external groups
