Mark Grubar, 46

| August 25, 2021 1:00 AM

Mark V. Grubar was born in Schuyler, Neb., on Sept. 21, 1974, to his loving parents Martin and Maureen Grubar. He spent the first 10 years of his life on his family's farm with his two older brothers and younger sister, running around with his dog, Muffin, playing in the dirt, shooting birds in the barn, eating Mulberries and chasing fire bugs.

In 1984 his family moved to Post Falls, Idaho. This is where he made friendships that would last his entire life. He attended Immaculate Conception Academy, Post Falls High School & Alternative school.

He moved to Virginia in 1999 to help a friend remodel a nursing home, then moved to California in 2001 where he did Telcom work. In 2002 he moved back to Idaho and worked as a cook at Cedars Floating Restaurant before starting trade school and working for Thorco Inc. in 2003. He became a certified Electrician in 2008, and a Journeyman Electrician in 2011. In 2016 he went to work for Fuse Electric. He worked on many buildings including CDA Water Department, Athol Crossing Convenience Store, Sandpoint Library, Wiggett building and numerous others.

Mark bought his first house in 2004 in Coeur d’Alene. He married his best friend Jamie and the two spent years fixing up their house. In this home they welcomed a son in October of 2011. In 2014 they moved to Hayden and remodeled a second home. This is where they welcomed a daughter in September of 2015. He was a true man of God and because of this, he was a wonderful husband and father.

He loved the great outdoors, camping, fishing, golfing, bike riding and disk golf. But his favorite hobby was playing the guitar. He could play anything and loved to be challenged to learn new songs.

Mark is survived by his wife, Jamie; son, Noah; daughter, Fallon; his mother, Maureen Grubar; brother, Dan (Erika) Grubar; Dave Grubar; sister, Mary (Mike) Goggin; 22 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

There will be a viewing held for Mark from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Yates Funeral Home in Hayden, and a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Lake City Community Church, 6000 N. Ramsey Road.
