JoAnn J. Everett (Francis)

1928 – 2021 (age 92)

Florence, MT — JoAnn was born in Spokane, Wash., Oct. 23, 1928, but spent her first 14 years on the Twin Creeks Ranch in the Big Hole, near Wisdom, Mont. She was most at home riding her “flying red horse” Princess, swimming in the frigid creeks and helping out on the ranch.

In 1942, her family moved back to Spokane, where she had a hard time acclimating to “the big city.” She graduated from Lewis & Clark High School, spent one year at Central Washington College and had various jobs in downtown Spokane during World War II.

JoAnn met Daniel Everett at The Old Corral with a group of friends, fell in love and got married in 1951. In 1957, the couple moved to Seattle, Wash., when Dan joined the engineering department at Boeing. Eventually, JoAnn and family were able to “get back to the country” in Issaquah and later Fall City, Wash.

After Dan’s passing in 1987, JoAnn remained very close to her children, Garth, Brett and Danajo, as they all relocated to adjoining acreages on the lake in Hauser, Idaho in 1993. For the past 28 years, JoAnn enjoyed walking and playing bridge several times a week in North Idaho.

Mom passed away in her sleep at daughter Danajo Wilson’s home in Florence, Mont. on Aug. 9, 2021. JoAnn spent her long life as a kind, loving person with amazing energy and a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.

JoAnn’s family and friends are invited to call Danajo Wilson to reserve your place at the Celebration of Life Event: Sat., Sep. 11, D-Mac’s/Finklebinders, 11304 N Cliff House Road, Hauser, ID, details TBA. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com
