VACCINES: Look analytically

Let’s look at vaccination using logic and not politics or emotion.

Smallpox was a major killer before the cowpox scratch was discovered. Google Frances Stewart and see what it did to her life.

Diptheria killed many on the Oregon Trail. A membrane grew over the throat of the infected ones resulting in death. Measles killed thousands of people in before the vaccination was invented.

Tetanus is one of the most horrific ways to die and without the vaccine, any one of us could contract lock jaw which is the common term. Polio which was rampant in my youth was eradicated by a vaccine. Polio put children in iron lungs, crippled them for life or killed them. Pertussis, or whooping cough still kills the unvaccinated.

We are mostly free of water borne diseases due to the fact that we test water in this country for these diseases. Along the Oregon Trail, there were people buried every few feet from water borne illnesses.

Whether it is just selfishness or ignorance or just plain misinformation, all the anti-vaxers are putting our entire community at risk of COVID. The hospitals are filling, the infection numbers are shooting up.

The only way to get back to normal is to get a vaccination. We will reach herd immunity someday, and some of us will do it the easy way via vaccine or some will do it the hard way by sickness, death and permanent disabilities.
