COEUR d'ALENE — A Coeur d'Alene man was booked into the Kootenai County jail on one count of child enticement late Thursday.

John Randolph, 42, was arrested following an incident at Independence Point.

According to a city press release, police responded to the parasail dock about 8 p.m. after it was reported a man tried to get a boy into a nearby boat.

The man told the victim he was his father, the release said.

The 10-year-old male was frightened and reported the incident to Coeur d'Alene Parasail employees.

"When confronted by employees, Randolph again claimed to be the boy’s father," the release said. "Randolph then began walking away."

One of the employees followed Randolph while another employee called 911.

Officers arrived and after investigating, arrested Randolph.
