Latin dance celebration on Thursday

| August 4, 2021 1:00 AM

A Latin dance celebration is scheduled Thursday at the Hagadone Event Center.

Host Tammy Kelly said it is an opportunity to bring the Latino community and everyone else that dances together and to highlight the small dance studios in the area. She also said it will be a building block for a salsa festival next year.

“This is an amazing event no matter if you are a brand new dancer or have never danced before but just want to have a fun time and learn a little bit more about Latin dancing or if you’ve been dancing and/or competing for years,” Kelly wrote.

More than 200 people will be there, with dancers coming from through the Northwest for entertainment and demonstrations.

National champion Michael Saltus will lead a group lesson from 6:30 to 7 p.m. followed by more Latin dance until 10 p.m.

Kelly said she fell in love with Latin dancing because of the culture and the people.

“No matter what level you are at, Latin dance family is always welcoming to everyone,” she wrote. “We have so much fun with dancers that this is their very first time. We also will have some folks that won’t dance at all but just want to enjoy a beautiful evening watching others dance.

Tickets are $30 each and available at the door and by contacting Kelly at 208-704-5565 or Tammycj5gmail.com
