LIBRARY: Vote for these two

| April 30, 2021 1:00 AM

“In Defense of Looting” is the title and subject of two books on the shelves of the Coeur d’Alene library. The book jacket reads, “But Vicky Osterweil argues that stealing goods and destroying property are direct, pragmatic strategies of wealth redistribution and improving life for the working class — not to mention the messages these methods send to police and state.” Sounds like illegally inciting violence to me.

Now, please tell me it is wrong to vet the candidates for library board. Would candidate Mr. Fish allow this book in our libraries? I really do not know but considering his stand of not excluding books, I do not want to take the chance.

The Coeur d’Alene library board is appointed by the City Council. A resident in the upcoming local area library board election can vote on a person they trust to use good judgment. There are numerous books in our area libraries that many residents believe contribute to gender confusion in very young children, and yes, they are in the children’s section.

Our libraries connect to a site labeled “bookriot.com.” There I found under the children and young adult tabs, a series with the description, “Beyond School Girls: Yuri Manga and Lesbian Manga with adult main characters.”

I imagine Mr. Fish and the other board members are good well-meaning people and I thank them for their service.

However, I will be voting for candidates, who do not believe using common sense is censoring. On May 18, I will vote for Rachelle Ottosen and Vanessa Robinson.
