LEGISLATURE: A bill to celebrate

| April 30, 2021 1:00 AM

Finally, a voice of reason in an otherwise illogical world.

The Idaho House passing Bill 377 is a small but meaningful glimmer of hope. To indicate that based on your skin color you are racist is the very definition of racism. Yet for the past couple of years, I keep hearing this very argument. You’re racist because you’re white! And to question this obvious racist statement means you’re racist and you don’t know how racist you are.

What?

It’s like having a conversation with a 3-year-old. There’s no logic to it and to point out how illogical it is only confuses the child.

Of course there are those who put emotions above logic. They huff and puff, cry out that you just don’t get it; maybe even call you a few names to emphasize their point. But like a 3-year-old, they haven’t developed the ability to think through the noise, so they only have emotions to support their thoughts.

Thank goodness Idaho has some legislators who have the ability and willingness to push past the craziness that appears to be taking over the rest of the country.
