Lake City Center receives AED through CDBG funds

| April 30, 2021 1:00 AM

The Coeur d’Alene Fire Department delivered a new Automated External Defibrillator device and trainer to the Lake City Center.

An AED is a critical part of survival in cardiac arrest emergencies, and quick access to one along with administration of CPR helps to ensure survivability in those instances.

Funds for the new life-saving device came from Community Development Block Grant funds.

Lake City Center has been working with the city and the CDAFD for several years to get this critical equipment into the Center. The CDAFD will provide free training for Lake City Center staff.

“We are happy to be able to share our CPR training personnel with the Lake City Center and are proud of our City Council’s support of this project,” said Fire Chief Kenny Gabriel.

AEDs are available at City Hall, the Coeur d’Alene Public Library, and some large assembly areas.

CPR training is available at the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center or at private CPR training companies.
