| April 28, 2021 1:00 AM

ABATE of North Idaho’s annual Motorcycle Awareness Rally is set for 10:30 a.m. at the Kootenai County Courthouse in the Ronald Rankin Veteran Memorial Plaza.

It will feature several speakers, including Rep. Paul Amador, Kootenai County Commissioner Leslie Duncan and Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris. They will cover topics including HB320, which would repeal driver education classes and raise the driving age to 17.

ABATE (A Brotherhood Against totalitarian Enactments) of North Idaho has chapters in Lewiston, Spirit Lake and Coeur d'Alene with about 175 members.

"Our job is working on both state and national issues regarding motorcycle safety, education and legislation," wrote Duane Justus, ABATE of North Idaho state coordinator.

Gov. Brad Little proclaimed May Motorcycle Awareness Month.
