| April 27, 2021 1:00 AM

SPIRIT LAKE — Acacia Pecor pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts in the opener, and Bernie Carhart struck out 12 in a two-hitter in the nightcap, as the Tigers swept the visiting Spartans 20-0 and 18-0 in Intermountain League play.

“Both of our pitchers threw really well,” Timberlake coach Casi Lupinacci said. “We played good defense behind them, and hit the ball well when we saw strikes.”

Emma Howard went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and four runs scored in the opener for Timberlake (15-3, 8-0). Lacey Peterson drove in three runs, two on a first-inning double, and Howard hit a two-run double in the third.

The lone hit for Priest River (1-14, 0-8) was a one-out double in the fifth. The Spartans walked 18 batters and hit eight.

In the second game, Peyton Lindley went 3 for 4 and scored three runs, and Ashley Grantham tripled in a run and scored four times.
