Applications for the North Idaho Fair and Rodeo Foundation's 2021-22 scholarship program are available for Kootenai and Shoshone County residents enrolled in a two- or four-year academic or trade institution.

Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $1,500.

Donations reached a record high this year, totaling $14,000 for area youth, said Fairgrounds Manager Alexcia Jordan.

The scholarship program has given over $90,000 back to the community.

Funds for the scholarships come from donations through the North Idaho Fair and Rodeo Foundation's annual Cowboy Ball, which this year is set for June 11.

"Our area's youth is such a key part of our rural agriculture community," Foundation President Dwayne Glemse said. "We are fortunate through sponsorships to be able to recognize and reward outstanding accomplishments made by these youth in their exciting journeys that lay ahead."

The deadline to submit applications is May 10, and applications are available at the Fairgrounds Office, the 4-H Extension Office, or at www.kcfairgrounds.com.
