COEUR d’ALENE — Police arrested a Montana man who they said was a felon in possession of a stolen gun.
Isaac J. Fleming, 22, of Missoula, Mont., is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, grand theft by possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.
Coeur d’Alene Police stopped Fleming’s vehicle on Thursday for an alleged traffic violation.
Fleming allegedly told police there was marijuana in the glove box.
Police said they found a syringe loaded with heroin in Fleming’s pocket.
A search of the car reportedly yielded about three grams of marijuana, as well as a holster in the back seat and a handgun in the trunk.
Police said the gun had been reported stolen in Great Falls, Mont.
Fleming allegedly told police he did not know the gun was in his car.
He was arrested at the scene.
At the time of the stop, Fleming was reportedly on felony probation for assault with a weapon.
He was convicted on the charge in Lake County, Montana in 2016, according to court documents.
Judge Timothy Van Valin ordered Friday that Fleming be held on $50,000 bail.
