NIC SOCCER: Lee rallies Cardinal men past Wenatchee Valley

WENATCHEE, Wash. — Greyden Lee, a freshman forward from Lake City High, scored twice on assists from Will Kokernak in the span of five minutes in the second half to push North Idaho College past Wenatchee Valley 2-1 in a Northwest Athletic Conference match on Saturday.

Lee’s goal in the 59th minute tied the game at 1-1. In the 64th minute, Kokernak found Lee again for the deciding goal.

Tristen McMahan had three saves for NIC (2-3, 2-3 NWAC), which plays against the Community Colleges of Spokane next Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.

Wenatchee Valley is 2-1-1, 2-1-1.

YAKIMA, Wash. — Freshman goalkeeper Cynthia Johnson stopped all eight shots on goal for the Cardinals, who played to a Northwest Athletic Conference draw with the Yaks.

NIC (1-3-1, 1-3-1 NWAC) faces the Community Colleges of Spokane next Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.

Yakima Valley is 2-2-1, 2-2-1.
