Notable calls for the day!

04-20-21

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy took a battery report a female R/P who said she was battered in March. She sustained injuries during the incident but did not initially report it.

• Deputies responded to assist with some found drugs. Animal control had responded to the scene for an animal bite report. The victim had been transported via ambulance to KH for the injuries she sustained trying to break up a fight between two German Shepard dogs. The animal control officer located a meth pipe, methamphetamine, a cell phone and a purse on the ground near where the attack happened. Deputies responded and received permission from the property owner to collect the drugs. When they responded to the hospital to talk to the female about the drugs, they found she had fled the hospital. Report completed.

• Deputies stopped a vehicle on Hwy 53 near Curley's for a turn signal violation. After an investigation, the male was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. He was also charged with DWP and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Deputies responded to a psychological. A male called in saying he was at the "end of his rope" as he was caring for his wife. His wife suffered a stroke in October and was also diabetic. She had been difficult for him to care for by himself and he did not know what to do. Medical responded and transported the wife to the hospital for follow-up care and the Deputy transported the male to the Crisis Center so they could help him with getting resources to help care for his wife.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to an aggravated assault. It was reported a male had reportedly pointed a gun, later determined to be a 1911 replica BB gun, at another male and threatened to kill him. This was after victim had invited suspect to fight outside due to an argument between roommates. Prior to incident with the BB gun, victim made threatening statements to another individual during the argument as well. The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault, and victim (other male) was charged for assault. 21-16160

• A Deputy responded to a hit and run accident at Prairie and 4th. Per a witness on scene a vehicle had rear ended another at the intersection causing the airbags to deploy. 21-16181

• A Deputy responded to Hayden Super One for a detained uncooperative shoplifter. On scene he cited and released a male for commercial burglary. 21-16189

• Deputies stopped a vehicle at Hwy 95 and Appleway. During the investigation they located trafficking amounts of Heroin and Methamphetamine, along with a glock pistol frame. A male was arrested for trafficking Heroin and Methamphetamine. 21-16196

• Deputies responded to a reported domestic dispute involving a knife. A male reported his wife had stabbed him during an argument. The male had a deep laceration to his hand, he claimed occurred from his wife when she swung a knife at him. The wife was arrested for Felony Domestic Battery. 21-16179

• A Deputy and the Traffic Unit responded to Fir Drive and Hwy 3 for an injury crash. The R/P reported that she was holding the brake to a manual transmission Dodge 3500 belonging to another female. The owner was attempting to get in the driver seat while the R/P was still holding the brake, in an attempt for the two to switch places. During the transition, the brake was released causing the vehicle to drive downhill. As the vehicle drove down hill, the vehicle owner attempted to get in the vehicle however was ran over. She was life-flighted to KH where she was immediately rushed into surgery. A DRE was conducted and found the R/P to be intoxicated. Blood samples were taken. At the time of this log, the owner was in ICU. The investigation is ongoing, and will be followed up by the Traffic Unit the following shift. 21-16200

• A Deputy responded to an unattended Death. An elderly female was found deceased by her family. Nothing suspicious was found on scene and the coroner was called. 21-16198

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to S Silver Beach Road X S Hill Crest Dr for a crash. Upon arrival, they located the driver who displayed signs of impairment. They completed SFST’s and ultimately charged the driver with DUI. 21-16208

• Deputies responded to a residential burglary. The R/P reported someone entered her home and stole several items. 21-16204

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies arrested a male while he was at the DMV for an outstanding warrant. 21-16271

• A Deputy arrested a female for an outstanding warrant located during a traffic stop. 21-16306

• Deputies responded to the area of E Dodd Rd, to assist with a juvenile female who was having suicidal thoughts and would not come back to the home. Deputies assisted staff and transported the female to Kootenai Health and they placed her on a medical hold. 21-16299

• Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in Hayden. It was determined to be a verbal dispute only. 21-16307

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies and the Traffic Team responded to West Fisher Avenue for an Injury Crash where it was reported a 64 year old male was ran over by a vehicle. An update was the male’s leg and pelvic area had been run over by the vehicle. 21-16338

• Deputies responded to a reported Domestic Dispute. A passerby reported hearing yelling and a "belt snap." Once Deputies arrived on scene it was determined to a family playing softball and having a good time. 21-16341

• A Deputy located a vehicle which had been called in as a traffic offense at Highway 95 and West Prairie Avenue. The Deputy conducted a DUI investigation and subsequently arrested the driver for DUI. He provided a breath sample of .144/.150 respectively. 21-16343

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputy responded to a reported family disturbance. The R/P called to report her step-son was out of control. No crimes were articulated at this time, but a report was written the day prior for malicious injury to property with step-son being the suspect. Since he is 18 years of age arrangements were made for him to stay with friends for the night.

• Deputies responded to a welfare check. The RP stated his upstairs neighbors shower had been on since yesterday and he was concerned for their welfare. The Deputy was able to make contact with the neighbor and learned the flowing water was actually the toilet, which was constantly running.

• A Deputy handled a call from an RP regarding the welfare of his brother. The Deputy stated his brother’s truck had broken down and he was "8 miles deep in the woods from somewhere near Harrison." Deputies were still attempting to locate the brother at the end of the shift.

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Back Country Deputies responded to the area of Honeysuckle Campground for an overdue fisherman. A male was supposed to be home last night around 2100 after fishing up the Cda River. However he did not come home and Shoshone County was notified. At 0630 this morning, The Deputy began assisting by looking for the male on possible routes he may have taken from Honeysuckle Campground to Fernan saddle. The Deputy was flagged down by a citizen who had picked up the male about 13 miles from the campground. He was fine and just got stuck in the snow. He has plans to get his truck out when the ground freezes again at night. 21-16364

• A Deputy handled a missing person call in the Harrison area. This was the missing from the previous shift. The Deputy was able to learn the missing person was finally contacted by his friend, and advised he walked out to get equipment to go back in and get his truck. He is fine and did not request any assistance. 21-16400

• A Deputy responded to a non-injury crash in front of 1025 W Hayden Ave, where a USPS worker was rear ended. 21-16443

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to a Psychological. On scene there was not a Psychological issue rather a male subject was moving out of a residence and broke a tea cup. The male who was moving advised he was there to move his items out for fear that his roommate was going to steal or injure his belongings. FI. 21-16473

• Deputies responded to a reported Suicide Threat. Deputies ended up transporting a female to KH on a Voluntary Hold due to her wanting to kill herself. While at KH she was advised it would be a few minutes before she could be seen. This prompted the female to want to leave. Because she was there voluntarily one of the Physicians advised he would put her on an Involuntary Hold. 21-16483

• Several Deputies and our COPP Volunteer responded to the intersection of Greensferry X Hayden for an Unknown Injury Crash. On scene it was determined there were minor injuries and nobody was transported. 21-16485

• Deputies responded to a possible Domestic Dispute. A 3rd party RP was reporting her mother was possibly in danger, in the company of her husband. It was advised there was an open line and she heard her mother saying "please help me" as the husband was berating her. After investigating, it was learned a Dom. Batt. had taken place, and additionally the male is on Parole from IDOC. The male’s parole officer was contacted, and she advised an Agent's Warrant would be issued. Deputies also completed the DV Warrant process with the on-call Prosecutor and the Judge. The male was arrested for Dom. Batt Warrant as well. 21-16491/21-16505

• Deputies Hut responded to an Injury T-Bone Crash at the intersection of Ramsey X Prairie. On scene it was determined a vehicle was northbound on Ramsey turning west on Prairie and failed to yield to a vehicle that was southbound with a green light. Northern Lakes transported the southbound driver, who was a Papa John's driver on a delivery, to Kootenai Health for chest pains and also transported his pizza to its destination. 21-16507

• A Patrol Sergeant stopped a vehicle on I-90 at MP 12 for a headlight out. A second vehicle stopped as well. After an investigation, the driver’s passenger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. A second passenger was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and issued a citation for open container. The second vehicle that stopped was traveling with the first one. The driver of that vehicle was issued citations for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. The passenger of that vehicle was also issued citation for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. 21-16500 21-16504

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Bayview for a welfare check. An R/P called and advised her neighbor had come to her residence asking for help and about the crisis center. Contact was made with the neighbor who does have mental health issues. She was doing much better and did not meet the criteria for a PC hold. She was referred to the crisis center. 21-16511

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Pointe Parkway and I-90. Upon initial contact, Deputies observed pills in plain view on the passenger's lap. Both occupants were detained and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Over 400 suspected OxyContin pills in several different packages were located, along with several hydrocodone and suspected fentanyl pills. Approximately 9 marijuana joints, multiple pieces of paraphernalia, approximately $700 in cash and two handguns were also located. One .25 caliber handgun was located inside a sock and a loaded 9mm handgun with the hammer cocked back was located under the passenger seat. The passenger also had paraphernalia and pills on her person. Charges include possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and driving without privileges. 21-16525

• A Patrol Sergeant stopped a vehicle at Prairie Ave. and Greensferry. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. An additional Deputy arrived and took over the DUI investigation. He failed the initial evaluation and refused to complete any further SFSTs. He was arrested for DUI and refused to submit to a breath test. 21-16527
