HR 1: Vote yes, Sen. Crapo

Senator Crapo just sent out a lengthy letter about why he is opposed to HR1 or the For the People Act. One of the reasons he claims to be against it is because it would force the people of Idaho to have the details of their political donations made public.

Funny, but most Idahoans would tell you that information proudly. Senator Crapo is trying to pull the wool over our eyes. The truth is this bill would force elected officials to make public the names of the Dark Money donors and amounts of their donations.

It would mean the end secret or hidden donations that influence their political behavior. I say it is about time. Every single elected official should be required to tell us where their donations come from. And Senator Crapo couldn’t care less where our $25 donation goes; he’s concerned about making public the big money donations in the tens of thousands of dollars he and other Congress members get.

Voting no on HR 1 is about protecting their own re-elect pocketbooks. Mike Crapo, vote yes on HR 1 and really represent the voters instead of your own self-interest.
