Ronald Lee Davis, 80

Ron was born on Feb. 17, 1941, in Mabton, Wash., to Mern William Davis and Bernice Irene Davis. His family moved to Post Falls, Idaho, when he was a young child. His three sisters and a brother joined the family over the next 10 years. He passed away on April 3, 2021, in Spokane, Wash.

As a teenager, Ron did bicycle repairs to earn money. He worked for a sanitation service as a young man and owned and operated a small grocery store in Post Falls. He also did small engine repairs out of a shop on his parents’ property. He later worked for United Engine and Transmission Service, which was owned by his brother, Martin.

In 1984, Ron married Rose Campbell. It later ended in divorce but they remained close friends. Ron had many friends while living at Pines Manor Apartments in Spokane Valley. Some of his hobbies included coin collecting, building car models, fishing, classic cars and steam locomotives. He loved westerns, kids and dogs. He had a faithful canine companion for 9 years named Angel. They were inseparable until Ron lost his lower leg in an accident and was moved to Sunshine Health and Rehab in Spokane Valley in February 2020.

He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Marjorie Ashworth and Arlene Guimond; and a brother-in-law, Gerald McCaffrey. He is survived by a sister, Eileen McCaffrey of Post Falls, and a brother, Martin (Joan) Davis of Coeur d'Alene. He is also survived by six nieces and two nephews: Donna, Cheryl, Michelle, Michael, Shauna, Shannon, Robin and Ryan. He leaves behind 17 grand-nieces and nephews, as well as several great-grand-nieces and nephews.

Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on May 1, 2021, at Heritage Baptist Church, 8076 W. Prairie Ave. in Post Falls.
