Kevin Thomas Klotz

| April 22, 2021 1:00 AM

Kevin Thomas Klotz passed away on April 10, 2021, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born to Robert and Dorothy Klotz, Sept. 10, 1957, in Tulsa, Okla.

Kevin was the youngest of five children: Fr David, Patti, Sr Mary Francisca and Chris.

Much of Kevin’s childhood was spent in Post Falls, Idaho, where he received his pilot’s license at the age of 16. As a man who didn’t like to work for anyone but himself, he started multiple businesses. One of which was a powerline salvaging company that he shared as a young man with his brother, Chris.

At 26, Kevin moved to Florida where he resided for the remainder of his life, making a career out of the thing he loved doing most — flying planes. Notably, he flew Lear jets, 727s and a Piper Aerostar.

While Kevin worked hard, he was also known for enjoying life to the fullest. He instilled in his two children, Kailyn and Corbin, his love for adventure and the outdoors. Kevin enjoyed sailing, camping, hunting, traveling and horseback and motorcycle riding with family and friends.

Kevin’s idea of a good day resembled how he lived his life — waking up early, working on airplanes, fishing in the afternoon and sitting down to a steak dinner with a glass of wine in the evening.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 17825 E. Trent Ave., Spokane Valley, Wash.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Kevin’s online memorial at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com and sign his guest book.
