Sandra (Bacon Mitchell) Hill, 78

| April 21, 2021 1:00 AM

If you knew Sandy, you loved her. Her beautiful smile and twinkling, clear blue eyes always let you know how happy she was to see you. Her sense of humor and her amazing hugs were always at the ready. Although Sandy's love touched everyone, her ultimate treasure in life was her family.

Sandy was born to Teddy and Thelma Bacon. She had one brother, Dale Bacon, who she looked up to and loved deeply. Sandy was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Mitchell; her husband, Ronald Mitchell; and her second husband, John Hill.

She leaves behind three children: Robin “Robie” Mitchell of Post Falls, Roxanna “Roxy” Mitchell of Tacoma, Wash., and Robert and Jackie Mitchell of Collinsville, Ill. She had four beautiful granddaughters: Nichole Hardy (of Tacoma), and Kathryn Mitchell, Karalyn Mitchell and Kristyn Mitchell (all from Collinsville). She also had four great-grandchildren: Michael Rush, Mitchell Skordal, Anna McRae and Amelia “Millie” Beckton, and one great-great grandson, Bruce Rush. She also had three nieces and one nephew who she adored.

Sandy's love overflowed to her church family at Real Life Ministries, where she enjoyed the many ministry teams she served on and the Bible studies, where she soaked in learning about the Lord. She could be found worshipping with so much joy every Sunday. She also ministered to many young, teenage boys who she and Ron loved and nurtured as they welcomed them into their home as foster parents over many years. Sandy was also a devoted Seattle Seahawks fan since the team started; she was known as Seahawk Sandy.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021, at Real Life Ministries, Building 1, Room 112, 1860 N. Cecil Road, Post Falls ID 83854. A potluck reception will follow

The family appreciated the incredible care she received in hospice and would like to request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Schneidmiller House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d'Alene ID 83815, or to use a card call (208) 772-7994.

English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared on Sandra’s online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com
