LEGISLATORS: They know what’s best

| April 21, 2021 1:00 AM

Kudos to those who attended the Town Hall March 13 and asked specific questions about how and why legislators voted on issues.

I imagine this made them uncomfortable. After all, they know what is best for you and you just don’t understand how things work in Boise.

I wish more voters would track what their legislators actually vote on instead of relying on the “spin” legislators post and mail. You may be mildly surprised as to how close it mimics our neighbors to the West.

Read/look at how many voted to take legal/public notices out of the newspaper, make it harder to get an initiative on the ballot, take away local control for teachers to carry guns, take away local control for mask mandates, etc. The list is longer than you may realize.

The Boise legislature has worked diligently to silence local voices. Sadly, many of those are first term legislators.

It all comes down to the fine print, votes and not “likes.”
