KCRCC: Protecting your liberties

| April 21, 2021 1:00 AM

This is my response to Dan Gookin’s over the top op-ed. The Republican Central Committee is part of a battle to preserve our Constitution and liberties from the attacks all around us. This attack has been enabled by false Republicans such as Mitt Romney.

Locally, we have two Republican commissioners attempting to remove our right to vote for local office holders such as sheriff, clerk and prosecutor. This requires serious action.

The Republican Women organization members and volunteer precinct members have been maliciously attacked for fulfilling our duties of keeping the public informed.

Too often we have three Republicans running for office and the one Democrat-in-disguise wins due to split voting. This gave us Commissioners Brooks and Fillios, who would take away your voting rights and consolidate power as Democrats often do. Backing one candidate makes sense.

Precinct members took their time to evaluate candidates and evaluate their voting records. Providing voter information is the duty of the Republican Central Committee. We take it seriously.

Gookin is hypocritical on censorship. He voted to censor the right of the Wedding Chapel to conduct weddings, of their choosing, on personal property, and within their religious convictions.

We care about how the library spends our money and about the age appropriateness of books our young children read. This is not censorship.

To vote for a poor choice out of spite lead us to Joe Biden.
