NIC softball: Cardinals split with Treasure Valley, suffer first NWAC loss
COEUR d’ALENE — Addison Ribordy doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the fifth inning of the opener, and North Idaho College edged Treasure Valley Community College of Ontario, Ore., in the first game of a Northwest Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Sunday at Memorial Field.
In the nightcap, two of the first three batters homered in a seven-run first inning as Treasure Valley (3-10, 2-6 NWAC) handed NIC (10-3, 9-1) its first league loss.
Taryn Vanderwiel homered twice in the second game for the Cardinals.
NIC travels to Moses Lake on Thursday to play Big Bend Community College in a doubleheader.
